🙌PROJECTS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE💡

🌍Each project is a challenge, and at Valtria, we turn it into an innovative and efficient solution. Below, discover some of our most outstanding projects.💫

ST MICROELECTRONICS:

⚙️ST Microelectronics Catania was a special project because, once completed, it will become the world’s first SiC (silicon carbide) plant.

📌 The cleanroom project has a surface area of 3,000 m² and a height of 3.8 m. The temperature and humidity requirements are 21ºC and <55%, but the critical aspect of the project is the room classification, with ISO 6 in 75% of the spaces, reaching ISO 4 in the remaining 25% of the rooms, for which a final U-16, ULPA-16 filtration was necessary.

The project features numerous innovative technologies, challenges, and anecdotes.

SUNLIGHT GROUP 

🏭 From the Large Projects Department, we have had the opportunity to carry out our 🏅first project in collaboration with our colleagues from the Switzerland office.

The project, named Litharaki, is being developed at the current Sunlight plant in Xanthi, Greece, a small town located in northern Greece, near the border with Bulgaria and Turkey.

🔋 This is the first phase, a pilot plant for the creation of Li-ion cells ⚡ that will supply the battery assembly area, also located in the same plant.

CIDETEC

🔋In this project, we have worked with CIDETEC Energy Storage, which is the sector of the organization responsible for research and development in advanced battery technologies.

💡This award is very important to continue Valtria's leadership in ultra-dry room installations and to expand our portfolio of references. These types of rooms have enormous potential, as due to the manufacturing of electric vehicles, it is essential to boost the construction of ultra-dry rooms that enable the production of the necessary lithium batteries.

☢️ We have selected state-of-the-art air treatment equipment that achieves the required dehumidification level to meet the specific needs of this application.

NEIKER

🧪The project for Neiker is a new Level 3 Biosafety Laboratory of over 800m², one of the largest in the country. The project includes 4 main work areas: large animals, small animals, necropsies, and laboratories.

📈 In this project, we have assisted the client with proposals to improve energy efficiency in a biosafety laboratory, a disruptive concept compared to the traditional design of this type of facility.

📐To achieve this, following the UNE 171400 standard, we have designed a recirculation system in all areas, while always maintaining an intake of outside air to ensure good air quality.

GRUNENTHAL

The article details the assembly and connection of the ARIA 1500 and 600 fluidized beds at the Kairos Phase II plant of Grunenthal in Santiago, Chile.

The plant covers approximately 2,000 m², which includes the Fractionation area, containing Granulation Rooms 1 and 2, where the two ARIA 1500 and 600 Fluidized Bed units are installed.

🛠️ The project involved the supply and mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic installation of the various services described, adhering to ✨all relevant regulations for industrial installations.

• ISO 14644, European GMPs, NEBB, Heating, Air Conditioning and ACS Installation Regulations, RD 842/2002, CE marking, safety and hygiene, ASME IX standards

One of the biggest challenges of this installation was the assembly of both units in parallel. 👣 The Valtria team, full of enthusiasm and commitment, started the journey until we reached where we are today, about to make something that initially seemed impossible, a reality. 🛠️ But thanks to the effort and dedication of the Valtria team, alongside the site managers, the project was a success! 🎉

👉 Currently, both fluidized bed units (High Sear, Rotomix, and ARIA for 1500 and 600) are delivered and in operation by the client as of December 2023. 💯

UPCOMING FAIRS AND EVENTS

⚡️The trade fair season is starting! In the coming months Valtria By Clauger will be present at several important trade fairs for the sector. 

🔵 In March we will be in:

• 🧪 Contaminexpo 2025. This event brings together experts, manufacturers and professionals from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, hospital and high-tech industries to present the latest innovations in filtration, HVAC, critical processes and contamination control.

📅 Date: 25th to 27th March

📍 Location: Paris, France

• 🧼 Lounges Cleanroom Processes 2025. On 25, 26 and 27 March in Karlsruhe, Germany. This international event for cleanrooms and processes in the pharmaceutical industry is one of the leading events in the sector, with over 200 exhibitors and more than 6,500 visitors.

📅 Date: 25th to 27th March 

📍 Location: Karlsruhe, Germany

🔵 In April we will be exhibiting at two fairs:

• 💡Cleanroom Community Event, an annual meeting that aims to support the pharmaceutical industry in the development, manufacturing and marketing of medicines and medical products. This event focuses on sharing knowledge and promoting advances in cleanroom and controlled environment technologies, which are essential to ensure quality and safety in pharmaceutical production.

📍 Location: Pratteln, Switzerland

• 🧑‍🔬For another year, Valtria by Clauger will attend the A3P Morocco 2025 Congress. It is an annual event organised by the A3P Association (Association for the Validation of Processes in the Pharmaceutical Industry) that will bring together numerous professionals from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector to share knowledge and discuss advances in the industry.

Interview with our colleague David Mena, BIM Coordinator - Special Projects Unit.

• 1. Introduction:
  ⚡ We have implemented Dalux as our new project manager software, and this change represents a significant advance in the efficiency and control of the projects we manage.

• 2. What is Dalux and why did we choose it?
  📱Dalux is a specialised project management platform, which allows us to have full control over the progress, deadlines and budgets of our projects.

• 3. The current impact:
  💻 We are currently managing a total project volume of €25 million, which underlines the scale of our operations.
  
  Dalux allows us to have a more organised, efficient and collaborative management, which helps to avoid possible delays and cost overruns.
   

• 4. Benefits for the team and the future
  💡 With this tool, each team member can have quick access to relevant information, facilitating decision-making.
  
  As Dalux is implemented in more projects, we will see a continuous improvement in the management of our portfolio, which will translate into greater efficiency and better results.

⚙️TECHNICAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT 🖥️

• In this new section, we present the different departments of Valtria, with the aim of introducing them and gaining a deeper understanding of their roles and objectives.

This time, we talk about the TECHNICAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT ⚙️

• In order to continue increasing Valtria's sustainability, it has been decided to strengthen recurring businesses that help maintain close relationships with our clients. As part of this strategy, this department will be enhanced by dedicating more resources and investment for its growth.

• When we refer to Technical Service, we are talking about developing an offering that goes beyond maintenance operations. We will include small renovations, audits, energy savings, qualifications, spare parts, etc. In summary, we aim to support our clients on a daily basis by providing solutions for their cleanroom facilities.

🖥️THE NEW BIM ASSISTANTS IN CLEANROOM DESIGN📏

🏗️ In cleanroom design and construction, accuracy and efficiency are crucial to ensure a safe and controlled environment that meets regulatory requirements.

Faced with these challenges, BIM has established itself as a transformative working methodology in the sector, facilitating the optimisation of processes and ensuring an integral control that is key to the success of these projects and is shaping up to be a revulsive factor in the sector.

BIM tools not only provide us with a design platform, but also allow us to build a "Digital Twin" of the project covering every phase, from the initial bid, through detailed design to construction monitoring and maintenance of the facility during its lifetime. This "Digital Twin" is a virtual replica in which we can simulate and coordinate the different disciplines prior to construction, reducing risks, costs and complying with the highest quality standards, GEP (Good Engineering Practices) and regulatory standards.

✍️ In this article, we will see how Revit, together with Stabicad, Dynamo and other BIM software improve accuracy, reliability and agility in our cleanroom projects.

⚙️1. Bidding Phase/Basic Design 📐

In every new project, our journey begins with the pre-design and/or basic design phase. This is a crucial part of our tendering process, as it is important that our BIM team can generate quick designs and test different MEP scenarios during the tendering process.

Our usual design software, Revit, becomes our base, but it doesn't stop there. By relying on Stabicad, we can quickly create initial MEP designs, allowing our designers to quickly sketch and visualise the basic layout of their systems.

For this purpose, there are two tools within this software that we would like to highlight for their usefulness, such as "Solve Node", as well as calculation and dimensioning.

I have been a folklore dancer since I was a child, so I spend most of my free time rehearsing and performing. I also enjoy swimming very much and, when I have the opportunity, I take salsa lessons. I like to stay active and keep learning.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN LITEK?
The desire to participate in such an interesting project within the machinery sector for the pharmaceutical industry, with a great potential for growth, at a stage where my experience can add value to this development and led by a group of people with a human approach to the development of their team.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT LITEK?
Its good working atmosphere and the fact that it is a young and dynamic team.

AND OUTSIDE LITEK, WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?
Although with two little girls I have little free time outside of work XD, I enjoy walking with them and doing outdoor activities, I am addicted to music, movies, series and video games, and if I had more time, my favourite hobbies are the gym and golf.

I love travelling and exploring the world, which, in my opinion, is the best way of relaxation and recreation. I can broaden my mind and learn about other peoples and cultures by visiting famous places. I also love gastronomy. I perfectly combine it during travelling too, especially when visiting new local places and trying new cuisine, that helps me to know more about it.

Moreover, I am fond of sports too, especially gym and all related to it. With Valtria, we have a nice opportunity to do it in our office, which is surely a great advantage.

That’s why it is essential to take the time for myself to stay healthy both physically and mentally.

I have various ways to spend my leisure time. The most common are versatile training, watching movies/series and, especially in the summertime, motorboating and fishing as a side-product.

After more than 10 years in the sector, joining Valtria was an opportunity to grow, both personally and professionally. In my case, moreover, the challenge of being part of the business development department means that I can explore new fields, being able to provide technical solutions in the commercial field.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VALTRIA?
At Valtria I have found great professionals and a great working environment. After many years of work, I believe there can be no better formula.

AND OUTSIDE VALTRIA, WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?

I like to enjoy nature, especially the mountains. When the weather is good, I get away whenever I can to do a route. In summer I like to go fishing for "txipis" (squids) and have a beer in the middle of the sea. The best way to disconnect. Travelling is another of my favourite activities, and as a true Basque… there’s no trip without a good culinary route.

I have several interests that I have been cultivating over the years. I am a sportsman, having dedicated myself to several sports, the most present being the long-distance running. And I have some other interests, of which I can highlight palaeontology.

I am a builder, that which observes, studies and does.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN VALTRIA?
The opportunity arose at a time when I wasn't looking for a job, but I wasn't happy in the company I was in either. I did some research into what he did, what sector he belonged to and it caught my attention, as I didn't know the sector in depth. So I decided to start this new adventure.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VALTRIA?
First and foremost, the camaraderie, for those of us who are new there are many things we don't know about different areas of the company, even so you always find someone willing to lend you a hand and you don't get a “no” for an answer.

AND OUTSIDE VALTRIA, WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?

I consider myself a pretty active guy, I like sports, in fact I play a little known sport called Unihockey or Floorball, which I have been playing since I was young. My partner and I like to go out to the countryside, hiking, adventure sports... And I also like to go to a house that my family has in a small village in Ávila, which helps me to get some fresh air. And of course, to be with my dog Althea, a 14 year old Chihuahua.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN VALTRIA?
Basically, because I had a hunch that I could be happy here. I hope Valtria will also be with me :P

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VALTRIA?
Two things in particular: the company's vision of looking to the medium/long term by focusing on the training and development of each individual and the closeness and support for the people I feel.

AND OUTSIDE VALTRIA, WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?
When I can I escape for a walk to a mountain near my house, I really enjoy listening to podcasts about anything that has to do with personal growth or self-knowledge. I also play online chess games almost every day (although at an underground level, not like Josu :-), just to exercise my mind and have fun. I also watch chess games whenever there are important tournaments (while folding laundry at home or doing housework 😊) and finally I like to watch series with my partner when the kids allow it. That's all I can do at the moment.
