ADN VALTRIA - EFFICIENCY SERVICE

EFFICIENCY SERVICE

We continue exploring the different areas that make up Valtria to better understand their work and contribution to the company. In this edition, we spotlight the Efficiency Service department.

To learn more, we spoke with our colleague Gonzalo Aguilar, who shares his perspective on the team’s work, the challenges they face in their day-to-day activities, and the strategic role the department plays within the organization.

In this interview, we will cover topics such as:

The department’s role within Valtria

  • The types of services provided
  • Monitoring and continuous improvement of installations
  • Customer support
  • The main challenges they face
  • The people behind the team
  • The department’s strategic value

....... ➜ Interview with: Gonzalo Aguilar, Efficiency Projects Manager.
30

ADN VALTRIA - EFFICIENCY SERVICE

1. About the Department

  • What is the main role of Efficiency Service and how does it impact our clients?
Efficiency Service is a new business line within Valtria’s Technical Service department. Its main objective is to optimize our clients’ installations both in terms of energy efficiency and operational performance.
It’s not only about reducing energy consumption and lowering costs. It’s also about gaining greater control over facilities, optimizing available resources, and ultimately freeing up capacity so companies can focus more on innovation.

  • Why was the Efficiency Service department created?
Efficiency Service was created in response to a very clear market need. For many years, the industry focused heavily on investing in the construction of new cleanrooms. Today, however, the real challenge lies in optimizing existing facilities.

A large percentage of cleanrooms currently operating in Europe are more than 10 years old and often run with oversized design criteria that significantly increase energy consumption. In addition, Part 16 of ISO 14644, which specifically addresses energy efficiency in cleanrooms, provides a framework that many organizations still struggle to apply in practical terms. This is where Efficiency Service brings real value.

31

ADN VALTRIA - EFFICIENCY SERVICE

2. Solutions

  • What types of services do you offer?
In the short to medium term, Efficiency Service has been designed as a comprehensive service for existing facilities already in operation, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

The main services include:

... Pre-audit via web application. An “Energy Demo” that generates an estimate of potential savings based on certain characteristics of the installation.
Comprehensive energy audit with detailed reports on potential savings, ROI studies, and analysis of possible grants or subsidies.
Includes the full Valtria Audit, plus project execution, follow-up, monitoring, and the possibility of a maintenance contract.
The most comprehensive service, including Valtria Audit and Valtria Action, with the added benefit of official certification by a sustainability body, as well as the acquisition and management of CAEs, among other features.

However, in the medium to long term, our goal is to be involved much earlier in projects starting from the initial study phase so that we can contribute from the very beginning and continue through to monitoring and follow-up once the project has been completed.

32

ADN VALTRIA - EFFICIENCY SERVICE

3. Monitoring

  • How do you ensure proper operation and continuous improvement of installations once they have been delivered?
We have developed our own methodology called A.P.I.F.A.R.M.A., which ensures that efficiency becomes a real, operational outcome.

Each phase has a very specific objective:

    1. Analyze – Initial assessment of the current condition of the installation.
    2. Propose – Development of technical solutions and value proposals.
    3. Invest – ROI analysis and selection of the most suitable option for the client.
    4. Finance – Exploration of potential financing solutions.
    5. Act – Implementation of the improvement measures approved by the client.
    6. Support – Validation of results and data monitoring.
    7. Certify – Sustainable certification by an official organization.
    8. Accompany – Ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement through our technical service.

33

ADN VALTRIA - EFFICIENCY SERVICE

4. Support

  • If a client needs support or wants to improve their installation, how can they contact you?
Our contact channels are direct and accessible. Clients can reach us by phone or email.
They can also connect with us through LinkedIn, via the Valtria website, or by contacting anyone within our company, who will ensure they are directed to the appropriate department.

5. Challenges

  • What are the main challenges you face?
Our main challenge is helping clients understand that efficiency is not an option, it is a necessity. Let’s move beyond outdated assumptions and start applying the standards.

6. The Team

  • Who is part of the team and what roles do they play?
At the moment, this is still a very young business line (it was launched in October), so for now I am the main driving force within the department.
That said, I have strong support from all Valtria offices and their different departments, especially the marketing department and the Technical Service management team.Of course, none of this would be possible without the support and trust of Valtria’s general management.

34

ADN VALTRIA - EFFICIENCY SERVICE

Our goal is to achieve exponential growth in the short to medium term, with the ambition not only to consolidate our presence across the Iberian Peninsula but also to expand into Europe and other markets.

7. Strategic Value

  • What benefits does Efficiency Service bring to Valtria as a company?
I believe we bring an additional level of trust to our relationships with clients. We are not simply clients and suppliers, we are collaborators.

Automation and process monitoring are essential, but it is equally important to know how to interpret the data and, above all, how to communicate those insights clearly so they are accessible and useful to everyone.

8. One Team, One Direction

  • To finish: what would you like colleagues to know about your work and its importance within Valtria?
I firmly believe that Valtria is a whole, not a collection of isolated departments or offices. We are one organization, and only by rowing in the same direction and at the same pace will we be able to take this great ship as far as we set our minds to.

JUAN ANTONIO DE LA CUERDA

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I’m from Madrid, born to Madrid-born parents and grandparents. I’m the eldest of three brothers… and I also have family connections in Córdoba!

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN VALTRIA?
After more than 20 years leading my own business project, I felt Valtria was the perfect opportunity to continue contributing my experience while also learning and enjoying the sector we work in. Today I can say I made the right decision: Valtria stands out for its organization, forward-looking vision, strong market leadership, and great growth potential.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VALTRIA?

The work environment and the freedom in the way we organize ourselves are two of its greatest strengths, among many others.

I’ve always thought a company is very much like an analog clock: every piece and gear is essential for everything to work perfectly. No single piece stands out on its own, but together they make the clock tell the time, which is the real objective. And Valtria is certainly a very good clock.

AND OUTSIDE VALTRIA, WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?
I really enjoy playing golf and usually spend a day on the weekend practicing and sharing that time with my brothers, who are also fans of the sport. The rest of the time I spend with my wife and daughters, especially traveling together during holidays. I also like spending time with friends, enjoying music and reading (although I admit I read less than I’d like). I’m also interested in macroeconomics and like to stay informed about markets and economic news.

I’ll cheat a little… the “triple C”: coherence, commitment, and capacity for hard work.

MARCOS VIGO

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN VALTRIA?
I previously worked in mechanical installations such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The challenge of working on a different type of installation such as cleanrooms seemed like a great opportunity to learn and take on new challenges. Also, subcontractors I had worked with on previous projects spoke very highly of Valtria.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT VALTRIA?
So far, I really like the way the company works and, above all, the people.

AND OUTSIDE VALTRIA, WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU ENJOY IN YOUR LEISURE TIME?
Spending time with family and friends and especially following my passion: Real Madrid.

TELL US A WORD THAT DEFINES YOU
I’d say two: a good person.
